What’s special about this bottle: This easy-sipping, un-oaked chardonnay was meticulously honed from fruit of the famous vineyards of the Lake Erie North Shore, which enjoys a climate like many French wine-growing regions. Aging the wine sur-lie in all stainless-steel tanks helps the wine to retain its clean, refreshing finish. Chief Winemaker Jonathan Boyle finely nuanced the brightness of this un-oaked Chardonnay to reveal a rich floral and stone fruit in the nose, followed by a wonderfully balanced, lush melon across the palate, with a pinch of minerality in the finish.
This ‘Artful’ name and label draws from an original artwork to honour local artist and medical frontline worker, Tracey Ann Halkyard. She inspires us all to “Be better, not bitter.”
Food Pairings: Perfect with sushi and shellfish like langoustines, clams and mussels, flaky white fish and dishes that are not overly spicy or sweet, such as simple salads and vegetarian. Mild and semi-soft cheeses like gouda or a mild blue.
